Birkenstock Piazza Silky Suede

I've always thought if traditional Birkenstocks were so comfortable, why'd they hurt so much if you accidentally stepped on a pair sideways. I did that once, hit those rigid edges, and OUCH! I saw the Birkenstock - Piazza Silky Suede, and they're certainly not what I remember Birkenstocks to be. Get them in this taupe color to slim down the boxy footbed, and I just might become a modern-day flower child.

Pretty Little Carbon Footprints

All this talk of footprints have me thinking of shoes. Until they create an eco-friendly stiletto, comfortable flats will have to do. Here are a few pairs that will do the trick on days off.

J-41 - Aquarius-Vegan (Tan/Burgandy) Loving the simple fact that these come in such a lovely shade of pink! They're made of 100% vegan uppers and recycled soles.

The Simple - GT Jane (Black) is evidence that a pair of flat espadrilles can still be cute. Leather free, bamboo linings, coconut button, organic uppers and an outsole made of real car tire. The professor on Gilligan's Island couldn't have done it better.

The Timberland - Baldaci Ballerina (Red Suede) is the perfect runaround shoe on errand day. Bright, cheery, and its mesh lining is woven with environmentally raw materials and uses 70% recycled yarn content.
